To me the best part about going to Esperanza is that there is no TV, no cell phone reception, and no cars! If you're tired of being in the rat race, I encourage you to step away from it and go on a short term mission trip to Esperanza. I met God there a number of times, sometimes in the listening ear and smile of a staff member, other times in a hug from a visitor, and even standing on the dock by myself looking out over the water. I would liken a week at Esperanza to being in a small remote waterfront village in the 1940's. If you want to hear God's still, small voice, the quiet of Esperanza could just be the place where that happens.
