Hi from Scotland! Aye (yes), it has been a great trip so far. We have 3 full days left before we come home Friday night and wanted to send you an update on what’s going on and how to pray.
Today Monday, we kicked off our outreach to Royston which is a very poor part of Glasgow. Generational poverty, people living in government housing and refugees make up the city. One of ReHope church’s 4 locations is there, a small little storefront.
Our outreach is a “Holiday Club” from 9:30 to 2:30 each day since it is their spring break too. In the square there today, a handful of kids from the neighborhood came along with their parents. We did crafts, played with them, and shared the Easter story with them.
It was great to see our kids jump right in and start playing with whatever kids came. Kellen befriended a little boy (in the picture) with a lot of personality who loves his Celtic soccer team. He let him shoot soccer balls at him.
Be praying for this event, we will also do it Tuesday and Wednesday. Pray that the kids who came today would come back. And bring their friends. And that more kids would come. We are planning a soccer game tomorrow afternoon so encouraged them to bring their friends.
And be praying for opportunities for us to show them God’s love. And that there is an impact in the community, with the leaders at ReHope Church, and on each one of us.
